Unpopular opinion about El Salvador. A TON of workers here are lazy as hell and i do hope this message reaches many Salvadoreños in the United States. You leave the job site, little will get done and yes tools and materials will disappear. I said it. If you’re going to build a home, start a business, or just hire a few helping hands for that side project, get ready to fire fast. Put in systems of checks and balances, hire solid management, use cameras, and lock up materials. If you have the time or money you or someone you really trust must manage the project on SITE. I’ve hired thousands of people throughout the last few 6 years while personally living in 9 Latin countries and El Salvador has been one of the hardest to work in. El Salvador also happens to be my favorite country at the moment with my favorite people. It’s beautiful, small, has a Chuck E cheese for my daughter but most important, it’s safe for my family. So why is it so damn hard to work with people here? I think it’s because of the civil war. This is going to sound crazy coming from a president of a non profit but free money destroys people. It enables them. It ruins their will to work ultimately creating a lazy and slothful person Over 2.5 million people from El Salvador live in the United States. MANY of them send money every 2 weeks to their aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews to “help” them. This has turned into dependency. It has created a cycle of entitlement rather than self-sufficiency. “Why would I work for 10 hours in the sun when I can tell my aunt that I need money for medicine?” There are kids here with no desire to self educate, no desire to work, because they’re sucking the tit of their families in the United States or Canada. 2 of my hardest workers who show up early, never miss a day are these two men in this video. No arms, and an elderly who just wants to work. Their speed compared to a young healthy man is slow in comparison but their will and desire to work is unwavering. They’re inspiring. They are happy at work. They don’t complain. They’re not rich working for me but they are ok. I believe they are hard workers because they were never a part of a welfare system given to them from family in the states. I also believe that the civil war has created a massive divide between the wealthy and the poor. Maybe this already existed but chatting with enough people you can put 2 and 2 together. The socioeconomic divides between the wealthy and the poor. Certain families growing incredibly rich over the suffering of the lower class. People have lost trust, they’ve lost hope. Their views on money and rich people are shaped by past experiences of being taken advantage of. People are sick and tired of making $75 per pay period in the farms of El Salvador. I know that’s a whole other discussion. How do we fix this? I don’t know but I know my mission with casa conejo is to inspire others to work their asses off and to get paid by the sweat of their brows. I want to create a micro economy that allows the poor of the poor to grow! To break the cycle of poverty. To shatter the idea of “we can’t make it in El Salvador” We can and we will by working our asses off and getting paid what we deserve. Once we’re open a percentage of profits will go towards these workers. The rest back into our projects of building schools, running our women’s shelters, feeding the elderly. Let’s do this

In El Salvador you can just build things. No politicians asking for handouts (as they have in most other Latin countries I’ve built in) You can raise your family without fear of kidnapping, extortion, armed robbery. I am building an economy aimed at taking our employees out of poverty. I’ve been building this dream for nearly 4 years.. I’m exhausted and ready to finish 🤣 You have a dream? Build it. You want meaning? Find ways to better the lives of locals living in and around your investments. Find ways to lift them up. Let’s goooo 🇸🇻🚀

Imagine you’re about to leave your pregnant wife to enter illegally into the United States to find work, send money back.. sacrifice being with your family for their entire lives.. then a foundation comes along and teaches you how to fish “I’m not going anywhere” 🥹 Our foundation builds businesses. We built them a home with two rental units above. In Mazunte Oaxaca, they are now able to make a middle class income. How cool is that?? YEAH BABY!!!!

“Apples don’t grow in los naranjos” so many people told us this before planting. “The roots will rot” If you’re looking to plant fruit in El Salvador, just try it. You might be surprised. Tips.. use ORGANIC fertilizers. Mulch. We use rabbit droppings, cow manure, coffee husks, worm fertilizers, and collect all of the fallen leaves and mushrooms from around the 40 acres to create an organic SUPER fertilizer that not only feeds but regenerates the volcanic soil. We are sending our workers to become permaculture certified. We are inviting experts to work with them so in return we will be able to turn casa conejo into a school where we will be able to teach other farmers, locals, children from schools.. The future to us is not just AI, occupying mars, self driving vehicles etc. It is regenerating the soils of our planet to feed future generations REAL food. Figuring out healthy substitutes. Are we experts? Not yet. Are we 100% organic? In parts of the farm we’re still learning. This is a process that we are tackling. It’s not just a hobby, it’s a MUST for our children and children’s children Let’s do this!!

A few friends I’ve met in the bitcoin community are thinking about leaving El Salvador after Bukele accepted a loan from the IMF. My wife and I moved here nearly 4 years ago and have absolutely fallen in love with the people. The food may be a little overpriced, the roads may have a bit too much trash in the ditches, the government isn’t perfect but we are staying. We are going to continue to build Casa Conejo in beautiful bitcoin mountain aka Los Naranjo’s because the air is cool, the views are spectacular, the soil produces abundant food and if you treat it right, you can live a healthy life. The country remains safe and THAT is the reason we are staying. No matter where you go in life you will find something that bothers you. We search for a bitcoin paradise but forget that heaven is not found inside of borders. It’s not accessible with any passport. No! Heaven is found within❤️💪🏻

🎆🧨Are fireworks really worth the fear they cause for countless animals across El Salvador during Christmas and New Years? While it brings joy to many across the world, including myself, but when hundreds explode on every street corner, even a quiet town like Juayua felt like a war zone💣💥 Street dogs with no safe haven were left trembling, disoriented, or injured in their panic. One even snuck into our house for safety while we stepped outside to watch. It was heartbreaking—and im sure it’s exhausting for our elders and children who would be struggling to sleep through the late hours of the night (i.e. morning at 3am). What’s your take? Should we find a balance between celebration and compassion? Or am i being just another entitled gringo? Would love to hear your thoughts 🤔
