Unpopular opinion about El Salvador. A TON of workers here are lazy as hell and i do hope this message reaches many Salvadoreños in the United States. You leave the job site, little will get done and yes tools and materials will disappear. I said it. If you’re going to build a home, start a business, or just hire a few helping hands for that side project, get ready to fire fast. Put in systems of checks and balances, hire solid management, use cameras, and lock up materials. If you have the time or money you or someone you really trust must manage the project on SITE. I’ve hired thousands of people throughout the last few 6 years while personally living in 9 Latin countries and El Salvador has been one of the hardest to work in. El Salvador also happens to be my favorite country at the moment with my favorite people. It’s beautiful, small, has a Chuck E cheese for my daughter but most important, it’s safe for my family. So why is it so damn hard to work with people here? I think it’s because of the civil war. This is going to sound crazy coming from a president of a non profit but free money destroys people. It enables them. It ruins their will to work ultimately creating a lazy and slothful person Over 2.5 million people from El Salvador live in the United States. MANY of them send money every 2 weeks to their aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews to “help” them. This has turned into dependency. It has created a cycle of entitlement rather than self-sufficiency. “Why would I work for 10 hours in the sun when I can tell my aunt that I need money for medicine?” There are kids here with no desire to self educate, no desire to work, because they’re sucking the tit of their families in the United States or Canada. 2 of my hardest workers who show up early, never miss a day are these two men in this video. No arms, and an elderly who just wants to work. Their speed compared to a young healthy man is slow in comparison but their will and desire to work is unwavering. They’re inspiring. They are happy at work. They don’t complain. They’re not rich working for me but they are ok. I believe they are hard workers because they were never a part of a welfare system given to them from family in the states. I also believe that the civil war has created a massive divide between the wealthy and the poor. Maybe this already existed but chatting with enough people you can put 2 and 2 together. The socioeconomic divides between the wealthy and the poor. Certain families growing incredibly rich over the suffering of the lower class. People have lost trust, they’ve lost hope. Their views on money and rich people are shaped by past experiences of being taken advantage of. People are sick and tired of making $75 per pay period in the farms of El Salvador. I know that’s a whole other discussion. How do we fix this? I don’t know but I know my mission with casa conejo is to inspire others to work their asses off and to get paid by the sweat of their brows. I want to create a micro economy that allows the poor of the poor to grow! To break the cycle of poverty. To shatter the idea of “we can’t make it in El Salvador” We can and we will by working our asses off and getting paid what we deserve. Once we’re open a percentage of profits will go towards these workers. The rest back into our projects of building schools, running our women’s shelters, feeding the elderly. Let’s do this

I am building an economy aimed at taking our employees out of poverty. I’ve been building this dream for nearly 4 years.. I’m exhausted and ready to finish 🤣 You have a dream? Build it. “Apples don’t grow in los naranjos” so many people told us this before planting. “The roots will rot” If you’re looking to plant fruit in El Salvador, just try it. You might be surprised. Tips.. use ORGANIC fertilizers. Mulch. We use rabbit droppings, cow manure, coffee husks, worm fertilizers, and collect all of the fallen leaves and mushrooms from around the 40 acres to create an organic SUPER fertilizer that not only feeds but regenerates the volcanic soil. We are sending our workers to become permaculture certified. We are inviting experts to work with them so in return we will be able to turn casa conejo into a school where we will be able to teach other farmers, locals, children from schools.. The future to us is not just AI, occupying mars, self driving vehicles etc. It is regenerating the soils of our planet to feed future generations REAL food. Figuring out healthy substitutes. Are we experts? Not yet. Are we 100% organic? In parts of the farm we’re still learning. This is a process that we are tackling. It’s not just a hobby, it’s a MUST for our children and children’s children Let’s do this!!

A few friends I’ve met in the bitcoin community are thinking about leaving El Salvador after Bukele accepted a loan from the IMF. My wife and I moved here nearly 4 years ago and have absolutely fallen in love with the people. The food may be a little overpriced, the roads may have a bit too much trash in the ditches, the government isn’t perfect but we are staying. We are going to continue to build Casa Conejo in beautiful bitcoin mountain aka Los Naranjo’s because the air is cool, the views are spectacular, the soil produces abundant food and if you treat it right, you can live a healthy life. The country remains safe and THAT is the reason we are staying. No matter where you go in life you will find something that bothers you. We search for a bitcoin paradise but forget that heaven is not found inside of borders. It’s not accessible with any passport. No! Heaven is found within❤️💪🏻

While it brings joy to many across the world, including myself, but when hundreds explode on every street corner, even a quiet town like Juayua felt like a war zone💣💥 Street dogs with no safe haven were left trembling, disoriented, or injured in their panic. One even snuck into our house for safety while we stepped outside to watch. It was heartbreaking—and im sure it’s exhausting for our elders and children who would be struggling to sleep through the late hours of the night (i.e. morning at 3am). What’s your take? Should we find a balance between celebration and compassion? Or am i being just another entitled gringo? Would love to hear your thoughts 🤔

How much did our coffee shop/greenhouse make in El Salvador in the last 2 weeks? $17,350 The furniture isn’t finished yet. We just have drinks and deserts on the menu until we finish the kitchen. But we opened anyway. We are 90% close to being fully self sufficient with all of our local workers now thanks to our coffee shop and all of you guys for supporting! We have a LOOOT to build. Let’s goooo

$440 USD for this tiny shopping cart of food in El Salvador😵‍💫 I run a foundation. We spend hundreds of thousands of dollars purchasing food in local markets and for MANY things the prices are not that different from regular grocery stores. Like blueberries! $5 for a tiny cup! This is not just a problem in El Salvador but all over the world. My cousins in Canada can barely afford to buy meat for their children. Certain groceries in the states has nearly tripled since Covid. I am noticing something.. fewer and fewer people want to work on farms. They want jobs making money online. They want to live in cities to live a “modern” life. What happens if these prices keep moving up? What happens if minimum wage stays the same? What happens if god forbid the USD crashes like what happened in Venezuela? Learn how to farm! It is super therapeutic. It is beautiful. It is healthy… some people promote bitcoin. Some people promote religion. On this post.. I am promoting the importance of growing your own food. If you have the means, get a small piece of land with well water, a few animals. If anything you will have a beautiful piece of property to pass down to your children. Our foundation has shifted heavy this last few years into farming. Growing produce. I just feel that it is going to be incredibly important in mine and especially my children’s lives❤️

Imagine a community in El Salvador that serves organic food, has a health spa including red light therapy in their sauna, massage/chiropractic rooms, a gym, hiking trails along a cliff.. that’s what we are already building. More and more like minded people are looking for land to build their communities. Daily more and more dreamers show up to the farm because I feel that there’s a calling to live a more simple life. Where people can eat healthy, grow with the locals, take care of their bodies and their minds. I see our farm as just a small building block of MANY communities to come. I dream of other dreamers building near us where we can work together. Offer spaces to network, socialize, eat, inspire, etc. Another dream of ours is to build a medical/dental office for medical tourism. Here the price is a fraction of what you’d pay in the states. This will be another way to bring income into the community, giving the LOCALS higher salaries and offering our community more amenities. This would also give us a space for medical brigades to help locals. (We will probably just fundraise for this) but there’s so many people moving up here to create their communities so I thought I’d throw it out there. Any innovative ideas.. drop them below.
