Good detail: dado in your LED strip lighting under open shelves for continuous light under cabinets! We like doing open shelves at a corner bc: - makes walls less heavy - avoids awkward bifold door and lost storage at corner - ties kitchen materials together (lowers are wood, to match this shelf) - provides easy access for items like cookbooks, Sonos speaker, favorite mugs, and/or stuff you want to display And why is there a bump up on the counter? That's a story for another post...but it's a cool solve for a thorny issue that comes up a lot in renovations! (One of our renovation projects in an 1850s house in Boston, almost done! Sound on for random GC commentary...)
