I have a theory… I’ve previously stated that I believe Putin knew about the upcoming attack and did nothing to prevent it because he wanted to blame it on Ukraine to unite and mobilize his country. But what if that wasn’t his reason for not stopping the attack? What if he wanted a big terrorist attack to take place so the world (albeit temporarily) stops seeing Russia as the aggressor and thinks of it as a victim? According to publicly available information, Yandex has a total of six data centers in five cities. Building one from scratch costs approximately 6–7 billion rubles. Repairs are, of course, cheaper, but that raises the question of access to spare parts subject to sanctions.”
