Last night, Russia bombed one of our Invincibility Train Cars in northeastern Ukraine. Thankfully, nobody was hurt! 🙏 You can see toys & books from the All Hands & Hearts children’s area blown in with all the glass. Somehow, the kid’s TV survived. We will clean up and keep helping!

Some personal news to share! I’m excited to be joining my friend Petra Nemcova and the incredible team at All Hands and Hearts to help lead the organization as it grows to meet the increasing needs of communities impacted by disasters around the world. Petra began her work after surviving the massive tsunami in Thailand, and I first saw her impact rebuilding schools following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. I’ve had the opportunity to work directly with All Hands and Hearts staff and the amazing volunteers in places like the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and Ukraine while I was building World Central Kitchen. What I love about AHAH is how it commits to a community—arriving early and staying late to help people get back on their feet and back in their homes. At this very moment, AHAH teams are helping families in Los Angeles, North Carolina, Florida, Kentucky as well as building schools in Mexico, Nepal and the Philippines. I’m not forgetting about Ukraine; I will continue to work closely with Razom for Ukraine 🇺🇸🤝🇺🇦 and Save Ukraine —and of course Hachiko Foundation will keep helping the pets on Ukraine’s frontlines. It is more vital than ever that we support Ukraine’s defense of freedom and democracy. AHAH has also been a big supporter of Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion. I’ll have a lot more to share in the coming weeks and months as we scale up All Hands and Hearts relief efforts in the US and around the world. And I hope you’ll come volunteer! 🙏
