University of Tokyo students say it will be "great" when Japan becomes like Paris with "people with different skin colors," and that immigration "will positively disrupt the existing values and lead to more diversity, creating a more stimulating world." Japan is on the same trajectory as the US circa 1960. 10% of Tokyo residents in their 20s are foreign born (not including non-Japanese born in Japan), and 70% of Japanese say it's good to have more foreigners. And that's where I think the multiple intelligences way of thinking about things will continue to be useful even if the scientific evidence doesn't support it."
