Welcome to day 44 of the 100 day Art Challenge. Today I will be honouring my mentor, Mr. Tony Elumelu with this art work. Do you know there is a template to greatness? I learnt so many things from him, but here are just seven lessons I learnt after working closely with him for many years: 1️⃣ Always be prepared – notebook, pen, full attention. Write everything down. Write your goals, etc. 2️⃣ Use your imagination – dare to dream far ahead of your present reality. 3️⃣ Obsession with details – excellence is never accidental. 4️⃣ He rewards people especially staff– birthdays, gifts, special events. 5️⃣ Eye for talent – “I have no special talent, I surround myself with great people.” 6️⃣ Voracious reader – leaders are readers. 7️⃣ Preparation meeting opportunity creates greatness. Greatness is deliberate. Not accidental.

I chose Tunde Onakoya Tunde Onakoya! I am honored to have been invited by Holy Rosary & St. Anne's Catholic Primary School Holy Rosary & St Anne's Catholic Primary School, Leeds, England, for an art demonstration and teaching session with Year 5 pupils! 🎨 Given their study of the Benin Kingdom, Nigeria, I chose to paint Tunde Onakoya portrait, highlighting resilience, focus, determination, and the global impact of the Black community. 🌎💫 While I painted, my wife @bethelomeife shared the inspiring story of Tunde's chess triumphs with the Nigerian kids. Huge thanks to Lesly, the class teacher, Mr. Osborne, and the head teacher, Mrs Lucy, for this unforgettable experience. Which one do you prefer? The vibrant watercolour painting or the striking black and white version?
