New zebra crossing at Blackfriars Station floating bus stop. We have tried to explain to City of London why these bus stops are not safe or accessible for blind people but more are being planned. Lady Mayor of the City of London can we urgently meet to discuss our concerns please. This is dangerous

Filmed this recently in Amsterdam. Many cyclists, e-bike & moped riders took priority over pedestrians at zebra crossings, some at speed. We are told it works in the Netherlands, however, it is very clear that Dutch pedestrians are not at the top of the hierarchy of road users.

WARNING We've been filming the chaotic & downright dangerous situation at the Westminster Bridge floating bus stop at St Thomas' hospital. Clip includes a speeding cyclist crashing into an elderly person. These designs are not safe & they need to be urgently halted Mark Harper

This is what our President who is blind said about the bus stop design where you step off the bus onto a narrow bus boarder next to a cycle lane on Lea Bridge Road, Waltham Forest ‘Not fit for purpose. It really is totally inaccessible. These sorts of designs should be scrapped’

Please stop riding through red lights when pedestrians have the green man to cross the road. These crossings have rotating cones underneath the push button box to alert blind people when it’s safe to cross & it’s not safe when people ride through them on a red light at any speed.

Routing cycle lanes through the pavement at bus stops has to stop. Floating bus stops are not safe or accessible for blind people. Access has to be from the kerbside, direct from the pavement without having to cross a cycle lane first. This is at Elephant & Castle in London.

Went back to London again and this is what was found. Dockless e-bikes & e-scooters blocking pavements & causing trip hazards. Making the pavements an absolute nightmare for anyone trying to get where they need to go. This is not working, it’s not safe & it needs to stop please.

Went back to Park Lane floating bus stops in London. They are still not working. Riders are not stopping at the zebra crossings, bus shelters are separate from the bus stops & the island platform is too narrow for people waiting for & getting off bus. They are not fit for purpose

The pause on floating bus stops by Lord Peter Hendy Simon Lightwood MP is for shared use bus borders as shown in the video, where passengers board & alight the bus directly from & into the cycle lane. This pause needs to be made permanent, along with all types of floating bus stops.

Went back to the green man pedestrian crossing at St Thomas’ Hospital. Nothing has changed. How can anybody think riding through a pedestrian crossing on a red light is acceptable? Close passing people or making them run, step back or wait to cross on a green man is wrong.

.Keir Starmer Routing cycle lanes on & through the pavement at bus stops breaches BS8300-1:2018 ‘Design of an Accessible & Inclusive Built Environment’ Section 6.2.2 on Bus Stops which states ‘pedestrians should have access to & from the bus stop without crossing cycle routes’.

Went back to film the floating bus stops at Park Lane in London. They are still not working & will never work for blind people. Access to & from the bus has to be direct from the pavement without having to cross or step into a cycle lane first. We need help please Keir Starmer.

Warning cyclist pedestrian collide. Bus stop bypasses involve routing a cycle track through the pavement behind the bus stop, the majority of people riding bikes & e-micromobility devices take priority. These are not safe or accessible for blind people. Filmed St Thomas’ Hospital

Something needs to be done in London. Cycling through pedestrian crossings on a green man is being normalised as acceptable behaviour when it is not. Please can something be done about this behaviour, as it cannot be allowed to continue. Filmed opposite St Thomas’ Hospital.

.Yvette Cooper you need to do something urgently please as this is ridiculous. Red light jumping by cyclists, e-bike & e-scooter riders is endemic. This is blatant, dangerous & reckless behaviour with complete disregard for the need to stop at pedestrian crossings. Please act.
