This was my favorite moment from Elon, Franz, and Lars yesterday. Elon: "I’ll tell you something, maybe at a fundamental level why the Model S/X succeeded, which is that, those cars were designed with love." Lars: "Absolutely." Elon: "That would be my advice for people out there who are making products or providing services, is do something that you truly love. Your customers will feel that love." Anyone who owns a Tesla knows exactly what he means.

This is the sound of the all-electric Tesla Semi. Deliveries of the new Production Version begin this year: • Long Range model has 500 miles of range with a full payload. • 1.7 kWh per mile efficiency (average diesel semis are roughly 5–7 kWh per mile equivalent energy use). • Tri-motor powertrain with 800 kW of power (~1,073 hp), 3x the power of the average diesel semi. • The battery in the Semi is designed to last 1M miles. • Standard Range model (325 mi) has a similar turning radius as a Tesla Model 3/Y. • 0.4 drag coefficient. • Independent truckers are able to buy a Semi for use, not just fleet owners. • Semi fleet uptime is at 95% due to extremely low maintenance and reliability. • Integrated safety features in the Semi protect not just the driver but others on the road as well. • Future wireless charging. • Semi uses the same 4680 battery cells found in the Cybertruck. • Semi can power a whole refrigeration trailer or any powered unit. The technology is shared with Cybertruck Powershare.

Elon Musk on how Optimus will provide access to the best medical care for anyone in the world: “Imagine a world where everyone has access to the best surgeons, literally everyone. And Optimus will have the level of precision that is frankly superhuman and will be able to do medical procedures, very sophisticated medical procedures, any medical procedure, perhaps things that humans can't even do because they're too difficult, and that will be available to anyone. People often talk about eliminating poverty and providing great medical care, but they never actually have a solution. Money doesn't solve it, because there are only so many, there's a very limited number of great doctors and surgeons, they don't grow on trees. But now they all get built in factories.”

This is a first. Yesterday, BYD announced that they will offer full damage coverage for owners using their God’s Eye Level 2+ Urban NOA system in China. BYD is providing one free full year of 100% damage coverage (vehicle repairs, third-party property damage, and personal injury liabilities with no payout cap) at no extra cost, as long as the system is used properly and in compliance with traffic regulations in China. They’re also fully guaranteeing coverage for owners using their Intelligent Parking System (their version of Tesla Summon). This is the first time an automaker has ever provided damage reimbursement for an advanced driving system.

Everyone is going to want a ~$30K Tesla Cybercab when it becomes available, they just don’t know it yet. • Much safer than human driving. • No steering wheel or pedals. • Have the ability to legally sleep as it’s driving you to your destination. • Two-seater design, with tons of legroom • Great for elderly individuals who are no longer able to drive, as well as people with disabilities. • Work as are you being driven, or watch movies/play games. • Send off to run errands (pick up kids, pick up someone at the airport, etc). • The ability to add/subtract from the Tesla Robotaxi fleet to earn passive income. • You could buy a fleet and run your own business. • Send to pick up groceries, or other orders. • Have the ability to send home after getting dropped off your location, eliminating the need for parking. • Send for service autonomously when needed. • Autonomous Home Delivery • Virtually Zero Maintenance • $0.20 or less per mile operating costs • Wireless charging capabilities with well above 90% efficiency. This car will revolutionize the transportation industry and car ownership.

Elon Musk in a new interview on which of his businesses he is most excited about: “Well, I think that there’s increasingly a convergence, actually, between SpaceX, Tesla, and xAI, in that if the future is solar-powered AI satellites—which it pretty much needs to be in order to harness a non-trivial amount of the energy of the Sun—you have to move to solar-powered AI satellites in deep space. That is somewhat a confluence of Tesla expertise, SpaceX expertise, and xAI on the AI front. So, it does feel like, over time, there’s somewhat of a convergence there. But all the companies are doing great things. Very proud of the teams that do great work.”

SpaceX successfully simulated the deployment of 20 Starlink V3 satellites during Starship V3’s first flight. Starship V3 can hold up to 60 of these satellites. Each Starlink V3 satellite offers 1 Tbps of downlink capacity. That means a single Starship launch can add up to 60 Tbps of total downlink capacity to the network, more than 20x what a Falcon 9 delivers today with V2 satellites. Insane scale. V3 will also enable 5G high-bandwidth direct-to-cell connectivity anywhere in the world. This would only be possible with Starship. 🦾
