Why are billionaires fleeing California? Last year, the founders of Google (Sergey Brin and Larry Page), Steven Spielberg, Peter Thiel, Travis Kalanick, Mark Zuckerberg, and Dan Hankey moved their principal residences elsewhere. The short answer: Because the Golden State is taxing and regulating the hell out of them. Later this year, Californians may vote on a one-time billionaire's tax that will grab 5 percent of the wealth of anyone in that rarified crowd. In its current form, the proposed initiative will retroactively cover people living in the state in 2026. Gov. Gavin Newsom is against the plan, fwiw. 'This is a great time to really push back on the idea that somehow global trade has made us poor. What Trump is fundamentally arguing is that if you have a trade deficit with a country, they are ripping you off....That is mental...People in America aren't living worse lives because they don't have to work in coal mines.

It's great to have serious legislators at work like Rand Paul, who really lays into his fellow Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin, currently up to become head of DHS. Markwayne Mullin is a complete meathead who shouldn't be a crossing guard, much less a cabinet-level secretary. Senator Rand Paul was seriously injured when attacked in 2017 by a deranged neighbor. Mullin made light of the incident and, in a series of pathetic displays of obviously fake and performative masculinity, is constantly calling out the equivalent of "It's go time!," like the geriatric Izzy Mandelbaum from Seinfeld. Replacing the corrupt and incompetent Kristi Noem at DHS shouldn't be tough, but Mullin isn't even up to that task.

As Trump goes nuts (2 dolls per girl + 5 pencils/family are more than enough!) and the Dems twist in the wind, libertarian ideas (individual freedoms! a govt that does less and spends less!) are coming back in vogue--expect Rand Paul to emerge as chief political spokesman!
