Jaylen Brown explained how he’s memorized all of his teammate’s astrology and numerology in order to better learn how to communicate with them: “I learned communication styles that work best for each individual, and started utilizing that when I speak to each and every guy.”

![Jayson Tatum on his message of gratitude to the team yesterday: “It was one, just being vulnerable, showing my appreciation to the team, of how they have played this season, how they motivated me every single day. The joy and competitive nature that they displayed, I wanted to be a part of that. And I say it all the time, going through rehab and being injured is lonely. It's not intentional. I couldn't practice for a while, I couldn't be in the game. When they were on the court, I was in the weight room, having to do my own thing. So you feel isolated, in a sense. “But I just expressed that being around as much as possible, going to games, being on the plane, really made me feel like I was still very much a part of the team, and how thankful to the group for just being themselves. I was thankful to the coaches that extended their days a lot by helping me during rehab and on the court and pick-up games [for] my conditioning. So I really just kind of telling everybody in the room that they all played a part in essentially helping me get to this moment.”](https://image.24vids.com/tw-2030120630461362569/amplify_video_thumb/2030120482800889856/img/Oy2OTo7OsM0rIOm1.jpg)

Asked Jayson Tatum how differently he feels physically & mentally from when we last saw him: “When I came back, it was great from a mentality standpoint, just to get over that hurdle of playing, and even if I was at 80% myself, knowing that I could still be effective going into the offseason, knowing that I had the whole summer to get my body right, to get in the rhythm of playing basketball again. I feel so much more confident from a mental standpoint — and physically.”

Asked Joe Mazzulla about what it’s been like to watch Natalie Nakase and the Golden State Valkyries advance to the WNBA Finals: “Really happy for just how she's managed going from where they were two years ago to where they are now… the buy-in that she has as a coach and the eagerness to want to grow and learn.” “They're playing with a high level of inspiration now, which is what you try to have at this point in the year. It’s a credit to their team, and it’s been fun to watch.”

Jaylen Brown is not as down at the podium as I expected: “Game 7 is a game amongst itself, in a sense — the rest of the series, doesn't matter. It’s gonna be who's gonna show up on that day and be a better performing team.” “There’s definitely some stuff I see that I can improve.”

Joe Mazzulla explained why he doesn’t feel pressure from the Boston media: “They don’t have a weapon. They’re not gonna come after me. They’re just saying words.” “We’re either going to win or we’re not — 40 years from now, none of you are invited to my funeral, and that’s it.”

Asked (a very visible disappointed) Payton Pritchard how he balances processing a 56-win season with this outcome: “Just because you don't win a championship one year doesn't mean it didn't build for the next championship. So, when we won Banner 18, four years before that, we lost four straight — lost to Miami, lost in the finals. So those might have been disappointing years, but maybe those led to the championship. So, that's how I look at it.”

Alyssa Thomas called out the hate that Sun players have faced from the Fever fanbase, saying she’s never experienced these type of racial comments before: “It’s uncalled for, and something needs to be done, whether it’s them checking their fans, or the league.”

Jayson Tatum spoke at length about his reaction to the Jaylen Brown trade today: “The NBA is an incredible business; it’s an incredible job, but there are some downsides to the business and moments like this, where you just kind of feel like you’re going to be on the team with somebody, because that’s all you know. And then it’s just like, one day you find out that they’re no longer on your team anymore. And, we’re all humans. We feel all those emotions. Going into the facility, and knowing that you have different teammates, and somebody that you’ve been to war with, essentially, is on a different team…”

Asked Jaylen Brown about the backstory to this Tweet, and he explained he had just come back from a basketball camp, and that there was a ton of commotion of kids asking him questions: “She made a comment — she was like, ‘If Jaylen doesn't do his work. I don't care what camp he went to or whatever the case may be, he's not gonna be successful if he doesn't pay attention in class.’ I might have said something back, like, ‘Whether I pay attention to class or not, I'm gonna make it.’ She was like, ‘Well, let's see. I'll see you in the Cobb County Jail.’ And that was her response. And it was a substitute teacher, and it was kind of a back and forth.” “But I empathize with teachers, because the reality is like you have a class that's probably got too many students in it, and their job is to not only teach the class, but also keep a group of like 30 students behaved.”
