Instinct in group chats Starting today, early access users can add Instinct to group chats. A new Instinct joins and works for the whole group. Making plans with friends usually turns into a frustrating back-and-forth over times and places. With Instinct in the group, you can explore options together, agree on a plan and get it done, all in one thread. Your friends don't even need Instinct to join in. A few things it’s good at: - Planning a weekend trip with friends, including dates and arrival times - Coordinating logistics with a roommate - Getting tickets as soon as they go on sale, then splitting the cost and sending one to everyone - Running a fantasy league, keeping standings, settling rules disputes, and reminding everyone to set their lineups - Sorting out carpool schedules - works out who’s driving each day from everyone’s schedules - Organizing Thanksgiving, keeping track of who’s bringing what and ordering the shopping list Group chats are new territory for Instinct, and we put a lot of care into getting the permissions right. Here’s how it works: - Your personal Instinct asks before connecting with the group’s Instinct. You choose which groups to trust and can remove trust at any time. - The group’s Instinct has no direct access to your personal accounts. Your Instinct checks your permissions before sharing information or taking action. - If someone new joins the group, all pending replies from your Instinct are held until you grant it permission to share with the expanded group. Group chats are available to all of our early access users, and will be rolling out to everyone soon. To join early access for this release, ask your Instinct to put you on the list. Great work with Gajan Nagaraj Anuda Weerasinghe and Saagar Godithi

Instinct should be simple. You shouldn’t have to work around someone else’s app or website to get something done. The interface should be built for you, every time. Today we’re rolling out a new hotel experience, built on exactly that idea. Tell Instinct where you’re going and what you care about, and it builds a hotel guide around your taste. Once you pick a room, Instinct books it for you. Every guide is different. If location matters, you’ll get a map of the city with the closest hotels to where you need to be. If cost matters, the cheapest rooms are front and center. If it’s a big family trip, you’ll see places with a big pool and enough space to keep the kids and grandma all happy.

Instinct + Shopify 35% of our users use Instinct for personal shopping. Today, we’re partnering with Shopify to bring product discovery, checkout and order updates into one conversation. Shopping is a creative and personal experience. Your Instinct knows your sizes, the brands you like, and what you’ve bought, kept or returned. When you ask for something, Instinct understands the details that matter, from who a gift is for to when you need it to arrive. Instinct can now search Shopify’s merchant network for products, and find live information on prices, sizes and availability. When you’re ready to buy, Instinct sets up your order with the store so you can check out with Shop Pay using your saved payment and shipping details. Whether you’re searching for a thoughtful gift, researching big-ticket items, or restocking household essentials, the new experience helps you: - Discover and compare products across brands, with up-to-date pricing and availability - Check out with Shop Pay using your saved details - Receive price-drop and back-in-stock notifications for your favorite items - Stay on top of delivery updates and return-window reminders - Access automatic discounts and promo codes tied to your Shop account

Introducing our Trusted Person network powered by our new Instinct-to-Instinct communication protocol. Your Instinct can now talk to other Instincts to coordinate plans on your behalf. Getting people together often involves a lot of back-and-forth: finding a time, working out the details, and following up when plans change. Instincts can now work with each other to help handle that coordination. For example: - Coordinating plans with your spouse - Planning a weekend trip with friends, including dates and arrival times - Scheduling time with colleagues and other collaborators - Hosting events with 10s or 100s of people - Organizing recurring plans like tennis, book clubs, or weekly dinners Disclaimer: Your Instinct will only be able to communicate with those in your Trusted Person network. This is the group of people who are closest to you: - Spouse - Older children and parents - Colleagues and trusted professional relationships - Small local businesses The Trusted Person network is currently available to our early access group and will be slowly rolled out across the user base over the next 24-48 hours.

Location sharing on Instinct Starting today, you can share your location with Instinct on iMessage. Instinct can recognize when you arrive somewhere, and answer questions about where you’ve been. Here are some examples of how our early alpha group uses it: - Ordering food to your current location - Finding a lunch spot a few minutes away based on what you like - Guiding you through a trip itinerary in a new city - Figuring out how to get home, including which train to catch and where to board Instinct can also act when you enter or leave an area. You can ask it to remind you to pick up your package when you get home, or have your boarding pass ready when you arrive at the airport. These location triggers let Instinct follow up when the task becomes relevant. Your location history also gives Instinct context to answer questions like “Where did I park?”, “How long did my bike ride take?”, or “What was that nice coffee shop around here that I went to last month?” If you’re an existing user, you can try it today by asking Instinct to request your location. If not, we’re giving access to 1000 new users who want to try it out: . If you missed it, you can join our waitlist here:

Instinct-to-Instinct network Since the launch of the Instinct-to-Instinct network last week, Instincts have coordinated over 300k+ times with the most trusted people in users’ lives. Today, we're making two improvements to the network. (1) Support for direct file delivery Instincts can now share PDFs, images, spreadsheets, and other files directly with each other. The receiving agent receives the original file in its workspace, and can analyze it, edit it, or use it in ongoing work. This enables richer collaboration: exchanging proposals, combining travel plans, comparing spreadsheets, or passing finished work between your Instincts. Every file that’s transferred between Instincts is encrypted end-to-end between the sender and recipient. (2) Trusted network invitation links Invitation links make it easier to add people to your trusted network. You can access your link by asking your Instinct or copying it from your Workspace. When you share your link with someone, they can seamlessly send you a connection request. If they're not yet on Instinct, your connection link will also serve as a referral link that they can use to sign up for Instinct. Every connection request still requires explicit approval on your end. You can also generate new links and invalidate old ones.
