When I was in high school, I joined the percussion section of my school’s band because of the influence Roy Ayers had on me. To say this one hurts is an understatement.

Anthony Hamilton used to sing background vocals for D’Angelo before his solo career. Seeing him tonight at the Grammys singing background for D’Angelo’s tribute was incredibly touching ❤️

It seems everyday in the media we learn of another pioneer being laid to rest. Dwayne Wiggins was a founding member of legendary R&B trio Tony! Toni! Toné! A true revolutionary in the game🕊️ He is also the one who signed Destiny’s Child to Grass Roots Entertainment.

I went to a show where they played a reimagined version of D’Angelo’s “Really Love” and it made me so emotional thinking this was the closest I’ll ever get to hearing his music live 🥲 I’ll never get over it. RIP D’Angelo.
