Are we accidentally making a pixel art Baldur's Gate?? When I originally started Lair I had set out to make a successor to the old Goldbox games but the further we get into things the more it is feeling like playing Baldur's Gate (1 and 2) Oliver put in new shadows today, they no longer overlap and I have also started working on up and down walking animations for the player figurines (a lot of work and testing my limited drawing abilities!)

Let's take a walk through town! A lot of people weren't happy about the sprite scaling so I have redrawn the party and npcs to be at the right scale to the town. It is still a learning experience drawing at this size so hopefully I can improve as things go along.

I have started adding in some Npcs and animals to the towns. However, in order to keep the animations/detail smooth I have scaled them down by 50 percent from the original size they were drawn at resulting in different sized pixel art (oh no, breaking the golden rule!!) My question is: Is it super noticeable or looks bad? The reason for scaling down was to use the same party sprites that we are using from the dungeons/combat so we can keep everything consistent for each party member among the world map, towns and dungeons.
