People often ask how I draw the world map for the game and the answer is - pixel by pixel. Over the weekend I have been going over the starting area of the map improving things and adding a little more colour and detail.

Let's take a walk through town! A lot of people weren't happy about the sprite scaling so I have redrawn the party and npcs to be at the right scale to the town. It is still a learning experience drawing at this size so hopefully I can improve as things go along.

I have started adding in some Npcs and animals to the towns. However, in order to keep the animations/detail smooth I have scaled them down by 50 percent from the original size they were drawn at resulting in different sized pixel art (oh no, breaking the golden rule!!) My question is: Is it super noticeable or looks bad? The reason for scaling down was to use the same party sprites that we are using from the dungeons/combat so we can keep everything consistent for each party member among the world map, towns and dungeons.
