On Monday, one of our motor officers stopped a driver on Main Street for using an electronic device while driving. We’re used to seeing a cell phone in someone’s hand, but this driver decided to level up, holding a tablet with both hands while behind the wheel. The driver was fined $368. The ticket also comes with four demerit points. Your text, email, or next scroll can wait until you reach your destination. Keep both hands where they belong and your eyes on the road. #ArriveAlive

We’ve received reports of youth riding them on public roads, often in a dangerous manner that puts themselves and others at risk. This afternoon, we set up a roadblock on the Mountain Highway off-ramp, stopping vehicles that had snow on top of their vehicles. In just an hour, we pulled over about 45 drivers, gave them a friendly warning, and even lent them a brush to clear off their frosty rooftops. Friendly reminder: Leaving snow on your vehicle—including the windshield, windows, and roof—isn’t just a bad look, it’s a hazard for everyone on the road. Oh, and it could also land you a $173 fine. So, let’s keep it clean out there!
