On Monday, one of our motor officers stopped a driver on Main Street for using an electronic device while driving. We’re used to seeing a cell phone in someone’s hand, but this driver decided to level up, holding a tablet with both hands while behind the wheel. The driver was fined $368. The ticket also comes with four demerit points. Your text, email, or next scroll can wait until you reach your destination. Keep both hands where they belong and your eyes on the road. #ArriveAlive

Do you or your kids own an electric motorcycle, also known as an e-dirt bike? These vehicles are NOT street legal. We’ve received reports of youth riding them on public roads, often in a dangerous manner that puts themselves and others at risk. Enforcement has been stepped up, and parents may also face fines if their children are found operating these vehicles unlawfully.

This afternoon, we set up a roadblock on the Mountain Highway off-ramp, stopping vehicles that had snow on top of their vehicles. In just an hour, we pulled over about 45 drivers, gave them a friendly warning, and even lent them a brush to clear off their frosty rooftops. Friendly reminder: Leaving snow on your vehicle—including the windshield, windows, and roof—isn’t just a bad look, it’s a hazard for everyone on the road. Oh, and it could also land you a $173 fine. So, let’s keep it clean out there!

March might have been ‘Distracted Driving Awareness Month,’ but just because it’s April doesn’t mean we’re done looking for distracted drivers. This driver was so glued to their phone that they missed seeing the officer for over 15 seconds! Remember, folks… #ItCanWaitBC, or it could end up costing you $368 and 4 points. Last month we issued 141 distracted driving tickets. #LeaveYourPhoneAlone.
