As I mentioned during my general conference address Sunday morning, followers of Christ should follow Him by forgoing contention and by using the language and methods of peacemakers. In our families and other personal relationships, let us avoid what is harsh and hateful. Let us seek to be holy, like our Savior.

Even active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may sometimes have concerns about some historical, doctrinal, or social issues connected with the Church. I want to help all our members overcome present or future doubts. Whatever those doubts, the way to overcome them is to get closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. Again and again, He has taught us that He is the way.

I know beyond any certainty in my life that this is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, restored with the fullness of the gospel that God has chosen to reveal in this dispensation of the fullness of time and led by prophets to the present day. I respond with humility to the responsibility that God has placed upon me and commit my whole heart and soul to the service to which I’ve been called.

As we enter in this new year, let us prepare for an Easter celebration of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ culminating in His Resurrection—the most glorious event in history—and contemplate our own future resurrection. How grateful I am for the profound meaning of the universal Resurrection, which is made possible by the great plan and the boundless love of God the Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. #GreaterLove

We are grateful to know that there are two methods of gaining needed knowledge. There is no ultimate conflict between knowledge gained by these different methods because God, our omnipotent Eternal Father, knows all truth and beckons us to learn by them both.

Before we served together in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I sat beside Elder Russell M. Nelson for 34 years in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. He became my best friend and most effective teacher. His life bore witness of his committed testimony as a Prophet and servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Heavenly Father loves all His children so much that He wants us all to live in a kingdom of glory forever. He wants us to live with Him and His Son, Jesus Christ, eternally. The scriptures God has given Christians in the Bible and in modern revelation clearly teach the need for a church. We affirm that the scriptures, ancient and modern, clearly teach the origin of and need for a church directed by and with the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s restored Church, established to teach the fulness of His doctrine and to officiate with His priesthood authority to perform the ordinances necessary to enter the kingdom of God.
