The untold story of OIIAOIIA (spinning cat) 🎬 As a community we have witnessed the creation of a new internet icon. Spinning Cat has taken over the world. With millions of posts, memes, and remixes of the iconic OIIA sound clip, this is the first internet meme to properly transcend into physical space by being displayed on billboards and festivals... all around the world. It all started in 2019 when Donna (owner of the official Spinning Cat, Ethel) posted the iconic picture to the Facebook group "cats on catnip”. Since then, Spinning Cat has a decentralised unplanned occurrence unlike anything this world has seen before. Every OIIA remix became a new content catalyst feeding the infinite content flywheel that just keeps spinning. In the middle of Spinning Cat’s rise to fame, someone decided to tokenize this virality through pump.fun which came to life on the Solana blockchain and got listed on platforms like Moonshot, Ourbit, Gate.io, BAGS, ... As a community we have been studying, archiving, redistributing, protecting, and eternalising Spinning Cat. This is an example of a true symbiosis between a community and the IP owner. 💚 Now we are proud to announce that together with Max (Ethel's manager) we are planning on making a documentary to tell the story of this phenomenon. We’re proud to introduce you to the cat that forever changed the internet and beyond. Together with Donna and Max we have decided to organise a GoFundme so everyone can become part of this story. The more we raise the bigger the story gets. The goal is to raise enough to make a Netflix worthy docu series. Any excess as well as the proceeds of the film will be donated to Donna and cat shelters of her choosing. The community has already been working day and night to collect OIIA content and study the origin and effect of Ethel. On the other side the manager has been connecting with the creators behind the content.
