Kyiv can have a dozen air raid alerts a day these days. Sometimes it’s easy to forget an alert is even active — until air defense starts shooting at drones outside the window. So I decided to build an air raid notification device for my office. Please welcome Svitlo4! It’s an old traffic light that I restored and adapted for its new job. The control box reads data from the official air raid alert service and analyzes local Telegram channels to determine the current threat level. 🔴 Red — missile threat 🟡 Yellow — drone threat 🟢 Green — all clear The control software is written in Python and is highly customizable. Everything is configured through a single JSON file. I’ll continue developing the project. Next, I want to add Ukrainian voice notifications and a web-based control interface. For now, you can configure everything only via SSH.
