UPDATE — DAY 2 OF OPERATION EGEREE OROMIYAA Two days after the declaration of Operation Egeree Oromiyaa, the OLA has continued to struck decisively against Abiy’s forces deployed to challenge OLA. 1. Western Command struck in Boojjii Coqorsaa, overrunning the regime’s military camp in Coqorsaa town. The toll: 68 regime soldiers killed, 78 wounded. 2. West Harargee Zone — In Daaroo Labu, at the Amsiisoo military camp, 7 killed and scores wounded. A simultaneous operation in Habroo District’s Daraartuu town saw OLA fighters seize scores of election ballot boxes that were being transported by regime soldiers. 3. West Harargee’s Hancaar district — 10 killed, 12 wounded, weapons confiscated. Similar action was carried out in Illu Abbaa Booraa’s Algee Saachii. 4. Northern Command struck in Wolloo, Harxummaa Fursee, at Raasaa Harruuqqee Qotiitii — 18 killed, 23 wounded. OLA forces then drove the remnants of regime forces out of Faallee and Kurfaa, pushing them back to Qiciicoo town. 5. OLA forces liberated civilians held captive in dire conditions in Suroo Bargudda (West Guji). Among those freed were mostly mothers — imprisoned for the simple crime of refusing to take regime election cards or for refusing to denounce the OLA.. Under blockade, Abiy Ahmed now resorts to helicopters for the remaining transport of election papers. Beyond what had already been delivered, the military is pre-filling ballot boxes with papers taken from Woreda Party offices — all well ahead of the so-called “election” date. #Oromia #Ethiopia

Earlier today, we shared the heartbreaking execution of a young boy in West Arsi Zone, Adaba District, carried out in front of his family. Tragically, another deeply disturbing video has come to light, documenting the point-blank execution of another defenseless young boys by Abiy Ahmed’s Interahamwe soldiers in West Guji. #Oromia #Ethiopia

On November 2, 2024, in the Ada’aa Bargaa district of West Shewa, OLA forces launched a targeted assault that resulted in 190 regime soldiers killed, 150 wounded, and 45 taken as prisoners of war. The operation followed a detailed reconnaissance of the district, focusing on strategic points at Dheebiisaa Hangasaa and Oolankomii. OLA forces seized the regime`s arsenal, including one PKM machine gun, two sniper rifles, 170 AKM assault rifles, tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition, and advanced radio communication equipment. These offensives are a direct response to the regime's hastily imposed deadline for a so-called “final offensive” hallucinating about ending the resistance. The breadth and precision of the OLA's ops continue to underscore our commitment to countering the regime’s intensified aggression. Among the POWs, one with the rank of Shaleqa (major of a battalion) recounted his journey, sharing how he along with his colleagues were initially taken prisoner during the Tigray war and later released. After thier release, they were forcibly conscripted into the regime's forces once more—this time, to fight against the OLA. Now held by the OLA, he has expressed a strong willingness to resist the regime’s oppressive tactics, describing his experiences as a cycle of coercion and survival. His story reflects the complex layers of forced allegiance and the growing resentment among soldiers compelled into battles that they do not support. The OLA calls upon the ICRC and other humanitarian organizations to assist in providing assistance and care for the growing POWs, as the regime has shown complete disregard for their well-being.

In the wake of the heinous attacks on our people in North Shewa, Oromo students across various university campuses have risen in unified protest, voicing their outrage and solidarity. Demonstrations have erupted in various campuses including Ambo, Jimma, Dire Dawa, Wollega, Arsi, Kotebe Metropolitan, and Bule Hora, Haramaya, Asoosaa, Salaalee universities. In a silent act of defiance, students at other universities have left their meals untouched in cafeterias, refusing to carry on as though these atrocities can be ignored. Predictably, the regime has deployed its security forces to stifle these protests, a stark contradiction to its recent claims of "permitting peace rallies" in Oromia. We stand with our courageous students and all those who resist the regime’s tyranny. The OLA`s investigation into the tragic events of North Shewa are still ongoing. Together, we reaffirm our dedication to holding the perpetrators accountable and securing a future rooted in justice and dignity.

Contrary to what has been circulating on social media in the past few days, the victim of the unfathomable acts of violence at the hands of the Ethiopian security, particularly the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) and the Federal Police forces was an Oromo kid named Ahemad Qaasim Duubee. He was tortured to death on what appears to be his burial ground. As clearly seen in the video this inhuman treatment was conducted by uniformed Ethiopian security forces in East Gujii Zone in Gooroo Doolaa community in a village called Saraansa. He was never a member of any political or armed group. This barbaric act was perpetrated only because he was suspected to have had a connection with the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA). This video is just a tip of the iceberg of hell that the Oromia region has become under PM Abiy, and only one evidence of the carnage unleashed on our people by the Koree Nageenyaa- the secret security committee led by Shimelis Abdisa. Some of its direct orders have been recently unearthed in a Reuters investigation: ( ) (Caution: extremely graphic video of the incident attached below.)

The unhinged regime is torching humble homes of innocent farmers in Cawwaqaa district, Buunoo Baddallee zone, as a desperate act of vengeance for Abiy Ahmed’s army's losses in the area. Against all rules and norms of warfare, mere geographic proximity to the sites of the regime’s defeats has become a crime punishable by the destruction of lives and livelihoods. This blatant targeting of civilians once again reveals Abiy Ahmed's true nature as an enemy of the people—particularly the poor, whose resilience he seeks to crush.

Our people in Dharraa, North Shewa, are enduring relentless attacks—both from the air by the genocidal Abiy regime and on the ground by forces originating from the Amhara region. As a result of these assaults, countless residents have been forcibly displaced from Dharraa district and Marabite town, driven into the wilderness with no shelter or support, left to fend for themselves in dire conditions. Whether these ground offensives are being carried out by Abiy’s forces masquerading as Amhara militias to instigate horizontal conflict or by forces officially affiliated with the armed group in the Amhara region is still under investigation. We are committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring that those responsible for these heinous actions are held accountable for their crimes. #Oromia #Ethiopia
