Goodbye Brazil. Long gone are the days of players like Eder. First clip is from Wembley 1981. I was stood behind the goal that night and couldn’t understand why Ray Clemence stood still. I only got it when I rushed home to see that swerve on the ITV highlights. At the World Cup in Spain a year later he did it to Russia’s Rinat Dasayev. Then again to Alan Rough v Scotland. In early 1983 thousands of new born babies in Brazil were named Eder.

Incredible video. Afghan dad jokingly says school is only for boys. Watch his remarkable daughter - who can’t be more than 5 or 6 years old - respond with these arguments. Afghan girls have been denied access to schools and universities. This little girl's courage represents the collective voice of countless Afghan girls who yearn for equal educational opportunities. As an advocate for girls' education the father's teasing is simply to highlight an important message: that the Taliban - another backward regime - are harming the people of his country. It’s time the world is done with them. Ditto the “Islamic” Republic in Iran #regime

Sure Keir Starmer don’t get involved with war in Iran but here’s the huge issue you’ve totally underestimated: you promised to put the IRGC on the terrorist list and you didn’t. You recently promised again and still haven’t. It is key to how we perceive your “decency and respect” and hope for “a stronger, fairer Britain” to quote your speech this morning. This is not political advice, it’s a suggestion as we are talking about a human rights issue: if you want us to believe that you and your party care about human values, the quicker you put the IRGC on the terrorist list, shut down the IRI funded terror centres around Britain, shut the embassy of the Islamic Republic and freeze their assets, the sooner you’d convince us. If not - from the standpoint of millions - it looks like you, and many on the left currently attacking Iranians supporting freedom for the people of Iran, are standing with literal terrorists. Our country is already going down a very dark path with rising antisemitism and - because of the Islamic Republic spreading their hate - rising Islamophobia. The time to act is now. Not just for your own political survival but for the whole world. On Jan 9th here with Matt Frei when news of the massacres was just filtering in and visibly traumatised when the number of dead was thought to be 12,000. The correct estimate is on my pinned tweet.

This is a very important post by NPOV please watch. Anyone who is not aware of what is going on inside Iran and the worst extermination of human beings in contemporary modern history, be aware that the regime is dominating social media algorithms. #IranMassacre

Morality police attacks a woman not wearing hijab in a car. Watch her fight back despite getting punched in the face. To the undecided men: choose a side. And for the sake of humanity make interventions. This woman is all women of Iran. You’d do well to support them.

FIFA insist that ONLY Islamic regime flags will be allowed inside stadiums at World Cup 2026. The game against New Zealand next week is in the USA - supposedly the land of the free - where the First Amendment guarantees freedom of expression and speech. No question #TeamMelli is being used as a propaganda tool for the regime. But for Iranian protesters the Lion & Sun flag is more than a symbol: it is a stance against the Islamic Republic. They see it as the real flag of Iran. And FIFA has banned it. There is a war going on. And between the Islamic regime and the people of Iran it’s been raging for 47 years. The presence of an Iran team at the World Cup is a massive opportunity for the people to show the world that millions of Iranians see this regime as worse than the Nazis and they want them gone. No deal. Just kicked into the dustheap of history. There will be thousands gathered outside the stadium before each game sending this precise message and reminding the world what the regime did to their own people in January, and continue to do with daily executions of young innocents. So what happens if Iranians bring the lion & sun flag inside the stadium? They can’t arrest them as it would be an infringement on freedom of speech. After all this is not Qatar when 6 women escorted a woman out of a stadium in 2022 simply for wearing a T-shirt standing for the freedom of women in Iran. Or is it?

Ireland sends a message of hope. #IsraelPalestineConflict Huge respect to Patrick Kielty for these important closing words on The Late Late Show FYI Patrick’s own father John "Jack" Kielty was shot dead in 1988 by a group calling themselves the Ulster Freedom Fighters (UFF) during the Troubles in N. Ireland. If anyone is qualified to talk about hope it’s Patrick Kielty and the people of Ireland, where the mothers played a huge role in achieving “the miracle” of peace.

🔴 We have waited for this. And now it’s happening: a stark rebuke of the Islamic regime in Iran by one of the Arab world's most senior diplomats. Iran’s ideology claims it defends Islamic causes. But the bare facts are now exposed: for 47 years Iran has used a proxy network funding and promoting Hezbollah, the Houthis, Hamas, and allied militias across Iraq, Syria, & Sudan all in the name of “a resistance movement defending Islam and the Palestinian cause”. It is a sham that many fell for. Arabs countries finally calling bs on Iran is highly significant and the final nail in the coffin of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Watch:

A voice is from inside Iran. Not from a political analyst. Not from a commentator. From someone who was tear-gassed and shot at. “The truth is, most people were shouting for the return of Prince Reza Pahlavi. But when you’re being tear-gassed and shot at, you start running. You grab the hand of the first person next to you and run for your life, just to avoid falling into the hands of these executioners. At that moment, it never occurs to you to think whether the person with you is a monarchist, a republican, or anything else. All we want is to get rid of these criminals. We don’t even think about anything else. Please be my voice. Especially tell the diaspora: social media fights are not the voice of the people of Iran. We just want freedom.” #IranMassacre
