Today, I led my team to the Senate in response to their summons. Once the session was adjourned, we were released, and I proceeded to Senator Edwin Sifuna’s office for a productive discussion regarding our planned "Linda Mwananchi" activities. It was encouraging to see the city remain calm as I walked to my office to address the media. It is time we recognize the significance of this day; Saba Saba ought to be a public holiday.

Today, alongside veteran legal minds Martha Karua, former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga, Gitobu Imanyara, and Prof. Kivutha Kibwana, we stood with the grieving parents of Rex Maasai and Erickson. Together, we officially petitioned and notified the Inspector General of Police of a peaceful nationwide march on June 25th, 2026. We invite all Kenyans mothers, fathers, siblings, and friends to march to Parliament to demand justice and lay flowers where our children’s lives were cruelly taken. Parallel vigils and commemorations will take place across all 47 counties. Mark your calendars: June 25th will be observed as a Public Holiday. No work, no school !

Contrary to the misreporting by Citizen TV Kenya , we did not leave the venue because we were "chased." We departed because the presiding Bishop and Seme MP James Nyikal had already left to proceed with the burial of his father. Our sole purpose for attending was to offer our condolences and stand in solidarity with the family. Remaining unbowed, we left the service and arrived safely at the airport to return to Nairobi. This travel is in preparation for the EALASCA Festival, which are scheduled to kick off in Mombasa on Monday, May 4th, 2026. I am proud to confirm that Siaya County will be participating in the upcoming events and I will be joining them as the Patron of KICOSCA. While at the airport, we enjoyed a warm reception and spent time engaging with the locals before boarding. The people of Kisumu are WANTAM, a spirit of hospitality and excellence that was clearly on display throughout the past weekend.

Visited the Utawala home of our brother, Senator Richard Onyonka, to condole with his family following the passing of their matriarch, Mama Teresa Omoke. Joined by Hon. Babu Owino, Hon.Anthony Kibagendi, and Retired CJ David Maraga, we spent the afternoon sharing memories of a woman whose grace and wisdom shaped a formidable legacy.
