In 2006, Tyson gutted their Norfolk plant so no competitor could buy it. It's sat empty ever since. Now they've closed Lexington instead of selling it, killing competition and manipulating cattle prices. That breaks the Packers and Stockyards Act. Tyson isn't above the law.

You used to be able to take the back of your phone off, replace the battery, and you’d be good for another few years. Now, manufacturers like Apple not only work to block independent repair, but design their products to have a shorter lifespan. The idea is to boost sales by forcing consumers to replace their electronics more often. If elected, I’d support strong right to repair legislation, but also work with the FTC to go after this unfair and deceptive business practice.

Here I am fixing the brakes on my Campaign Manager’s RAM hoping to get your attention on an issue I care a lot about as a mechanic – Right To Repair. Right to Repair is simple: if you own something, you should be able to fix it or take it to a technician you trust. But for decades, big corporations have chipped away at this right by making repairs difficult, expensive, or even impossible. We need Right To Repair. When I’m in the U.S. Senate, I’ll cosponsor legislation to get it done.
