Humans have indeed accomplished some of the craziest things in life. Antonov An-225 Mriya used to be the world's largest and heaviest aircraft before it was destroyed by Russian forces in Ukrainian airport in February 2022, during this ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war. Happened that when an invasion warning came, the Mriya could not fly. It was undergoing scheduled maintenance at Hostomel Airport (Kyiv) with one of its six engines dismantled. Other Ukrainian planes evacuated but Mriya was trapped on the ground, a sitting duck. It was housed in a massive hangar that was shelled by Russian artillery. A fire broke out, destroying the cockpit, nose, and avionics, effectively beheading the aircraft. Only one single Antonov An-225 Mriya was ever completed and flown. Soboma George: The Niger Delta Militant Who Became One of Rivers State’s Most Feared Figures In the turbulent years of the Niger Delta militancy, one name often echoed across Port Harcourt and Rivers State Soboma George. Rising during the height of agitation in the oil-rich Niger Delta, Soboma George became known as a militant commander and gang leader whose influence spread through parts of the region in the 2000s. He was widely linked to the militant movement Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), a group that emerged during protests against oil exploitation and the demand for greater benefits for local communities.
