These stones have been silent for millions of years. Now, they can be played. 🎶🪨 In San Sperate, Sardinia, the Giardino Sonoro (Sound Garden) is an open-air museum created by the late Italian sculptor Pinuccio Sciola, where monumental stone sculptures can be heard as much as they can be seen. Known as “Sound Stones,” the carved basalt and limestone sculptures produce deep, resonant tones when touched or gently rubbed. Carefully cut grooves alter how the stone vibrates, turning solid geological material into an interactive acoustic experience. Captured by Elisabetta Tulsi, the garden brings together sculpture, material experimentation, landscape, and sound, revealing an unexpected musical quality hidden within stone. Would you expect a piece of stone to sound like this? 🎵 #ParametricArchitecture #PinuccioSciola #GiardinoSonoro #SoundGarden #Sardinia

🦾 Robotic milling is adding a new layer of precision to 3D-printed concrete. In its latest experiments, Vertico combines 3D concrete printing with robotic milling to refine surfaces after printing. The process can smooth visible print layers, sharpen edges, and increase the accuracy of details and connections between elements. The combination also allows different finishes to coexist within a single piece, preserving the layered texture of printed concrete in some areas while creating precisely milled, smooth surfaces in others. By bringing additive and subtractive fabrication into the same workflow, these experiments explore new possibilities for the geometry, texture, and finishing of 3D-printed concrete. 🎓Subscribe to our newsletter: 🎥 Vertico #ParametricArchitecture #3DConcretePrinting #RoboticMilling #RoboticFabrication #AdditiveManufacturing

💠 How can a glass railing stay secure with almost no visible support? This embedded glass railing system uses a pre-installed bottom groove to anchor thick laminated tempered glass directly into the floor, creating a seamless frameless appearance without exposed posts or bulky brackets. The concealed base detail provides the structural support needed to resist lateral loads, wind pressure, and everyday impact, while the laminated tempered glass adds an additional layer of strength and safety. The result is a detail that looks remarkably simple above the surface, while its structural performance is hidden almost entirely below it. 🎓Subscribe to our newsletter: 🎥 doorfoling5 #parametricarchitecture #glassrailing #architecturedetail #constructiondetail #buildingtechnology

🎆The façade of the Centre Pompidou lit up one last time before closing! In a breathtaking farewell “The Last Carnival,” artist Cai Guo-Qiang transformed the building’s iconic structure into a pyrotechnic mural, a spectacular fusion of art, architecture, and light celebrating the Pompidou’s legacy of creative experimentation. 📌Though the museum has now closed its doors, Because Beaubourg! invites visitors on October 24–25 for a final celebration. While the evening shows are sold out, the daytime program (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.) remains open and free to all. 🎥 Centre Pompidou, Cai Guo-Qiang #parametricarchitecture #centrepompidou #architecture #artinstallation #caiguoqiang #paris

🌊The Pearl, a kinetic sculpture designed by BREAKFAST, stands at 13.7 meters and is 16 meters in diameter. It has almost 3,000 tiles that can move and change shape, controlled by computers, and almost 9,000 tiny motors that make this possible. The sculpture mimics the movements of water, wind, and sea creatures, responding to real-time information about the weather and tides in the Caribbean. 🎓Subscribe to our newsletter:

📌The Zayed National Museum, designed by Foster + Partners, is the flagship project of Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island Cultural District. Conceived as a monument to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the museum integrates modern design with regional vernacular in a sculpted built mound that reflects the UAE’s desert landscape. Rising from this form are five aerodynamic steel towers, shaped to resemble falcon feathers, a nod to Sheikh Zayed’s passion for falconry, and engineered to function as solar thermal chimneys. These towers draw fresh air through underground cooling pipes and vent warm air using the thermal stack effect, reducing reliance on mechanical systems. 📸 Foster + Partners 🚀Join PAACADEMY’s workshops to learn the most advanced tools in architecture from pioneering architects and designers!: #ZayedNationalMuseum #FosterAndPartners #SaadiyatIsland #SustainableArchitecture #ParametricArchitecture #ArchitecturalInnovation

Vertical gardens are not just pretty views; they also play a significant role in sustainability. They absorb carbon dioxide, release fresh oxygen, cool down urban areas, foster urban biodiversity, and make cities greener, healthier, and more sustainable places to live. 🌿 So, how can we promote the widespread adoption of vertical gardens to enhance sustainability in cities? 🎥 © ParametricArchitecture PA Media.next #parametricarchitecture #technology #verticalgardens #sustainable #urbanism
