🎆The façade of the Centre Pompidou lit up one last time before closing! In a breathtaking farewell “The Last Carnival,” artist Cai Guo-Qiang transformed the building’s iconic structure into a pyrotechnic mural, a spectacular fusion of art, architecture, and light celebrating the Pompidou’s legacy of creative experimentation. 📌Though the museum has now closed its doors, Because Beaubourg! invites visitors on October 24–25 for a final celebration. 🌊The Pearl, a kinetic sculpture designed by BREAKFAST, stands at 13.7 meters and is 16 meters in diameter. It has almost 3,000 tiles that can move and change shape, controlled by computers, and almost 9,000 tiny motors that make this possible. 📌The Zayed National Museum, designed by Foster + Partners, is the flagship project of Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island Cultural District. Conceived as a monument to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the museum integrates modern design with regional vernacular in a sculpted built mound that reflects the UAE’s desert landscape. Rising from this form are five aerodynamic steel towers, shaped to resemble falcon feathers, a nod to Sheikh Zayed’s passion for falconry, and engineered to function as solar thermal chimneys.
