Aam Aadmi Party’s drama of alleged “verification calls” in Gujarat now stands exposed, and Punjabis should take note. Just a day after Arvind Kejriwal claimed that AAP workers in Gujarat were receiving “Intelligence Bureau verification” calls, the police revealed that the calls were allegedly made by AAP worker Nitin Dobariya on the instructions of Vadodara AAP chief Ashok Ojha. The entire narrative has now come under serious question. This also raises important questions in Punjab. Four years ago, under the banner of “Operation Lotus,” similar allegations were made, followed by a special one-day Assembly session and formal complaints lodged with the DGP Punjab Police by 15-20 MLAs, including Finance Minister Adv Harpal Singh Cheema. Punjabis deserve to know what became of that investigation. If such serious allegations were made, where are the findings? The truth behind those claims should also be placed before the people of Punjab.

This is what a “Police State” looks like. This video exposes how peacefully protesting youth are being forcibly removed and intimidated for demanding their right to employment. Just days ago, shocking scenes emerged from outside the PSPCL office in Patiala, where unemployed youth were subjected to excessive police action while protesting for their legitimate demands. Those images disturbed Punjabis across the state. What is even more alarming is that instead of initiating dialogue, addressing their concerns, or taking action against those responsible for the crackdown, Bhagwant Mann govt appears to have encouraged further strong-arm tactics to dismantle protests through force and intimidation. This video clearly raises a serious question: Has the government chosen repression over dialogue? Punjab's youth deserve jobs, respect, and a hearing-not threats, force, and the crushing of democratic dissent. The whole of Punjab is watching this arrogance of power and the steady transformation of democratic protest into a law-and-order issue.

What happened with Sikhs in Uttarakhand is deeply unfortunate and reflects the consequences of the atmosphere of hatred being spread across the country by the BJP. The Uttarakhand government must ensure fair and impartial action instead of allowing divisive narratives to grow, and must take responsibility for the safety and security of Punjabi and Sikh devotees. The mock Vidhan Sabha session by school students should make the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP reflect seriously — what are children learning from your theatrics-driven politics? Instead of teaching kids to imitate today’s leaders, it would be far better if teachers guided them to discuss Punjab’s real and serious issues with maturity — discussions that might even inspire the current government to introspect on its own functioning in the Assembly. If the Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan truly wants to connect and educate the new generation about democratic processes, then student unions of Panjab University should be encouraged to organize such mock sessions.

Punjab has once again been sidelined by the AAP Sanjay Gupta, an outsider to Punjab, has been appointed Chairman of the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission for the next five years, on the recommendation of a senior AAP leader. To accommodate this appointment, 26 other eligible candidates were overlooked and even the requirement of a “working knowledge of Punjabi” was removed from the eligibility criteria. AAP first handed Punjab’s Rajya Sabha seats to outsiders despite strong opposition from Punjabis. Now, another key institution has been placed in the hands of a non-Punjabi appointee. I strongly oppose this anti-Punjab decision and demand that the government immediately withdraw this order and protect Punjab’s rights and representation.

Dear Bhagwant Mann at the very least, you can stop this blatant sand loot happening behind Chattbir Zoo. The contract is for desilting, yet sand is being illegally mined far from the water body. Is your administration truly blind to this open loot, or is it complicit? Villagers report that over 500 tippers of sand cross daily, amounting to ₹10-15 lakh in theft every day—just from one site. I still remember Arvind Kejriwal promising ₹20,000 crores from mining, yet the revenue barely touched ₹300 crores. Should we assume your people are siphoning off the rest, just like they are behind Chattbir?

Blaming Punjab for Himachal’s drug crisis is not just ignorance-it reveals BJP’s dangerous agenda to defame Punjabis and Sikhs. MP Kangana Ranaut ji, Punjab is a victim, not the source. Drugs worth ₹21,000 Cr were seized via Gujarat ports-key supply points for drugs entering all of India, including Punjab and Himachal. Do you have the courage to question PM Narendra Modi and the Gujarat Government about drugs flooding India through Gujarat? BJP-led Centre govt’s 131st Constitutional Amendment — aimed at completely snatching Chandigarh from Punjab and turning it into a separate Union Territory — is an act of sheer aggression that Punjab will never accept. I urge Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to strongly oppose this anti-Punjab move in Monday’s Assembly session and pass a resolution against it. I am extremely happy that the Hon'ble High Court has delivered justice in the 1158 professor recruitment case today. As the Education Minister, during my 3-month tenure, 1158 professors were recruited to fill vacant positions in government colleges that had remained empty for over three decades. However, the recruitment process was halted when the new government took over. After a long struggle, these professors have won their case in the High Court. Congratulations to the people of Punjab and best wishes to the 1158 professors. We also remember Professor Balwinder Kaur, who tragically lost her life while awaiting this decision. This recruitment will significantly boost higher education in Punjab and safeguard our government colleges. I urge the Bhagwant Mann government to issue the notification soon and expedite the joining process.
