Ms. Estelle Janse van Rensburg, Acting Regional Manager for the #RAF Johannesburg branch, explained to #SCOPA members that to claim for funeral expenses, you need a death certificate, funeral invoice, the claimant’s ID, a statement of how the accident occurred, and if not assisted by an attorney, bank details so the RAF can make payment directly into that account. #Oversight

Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (#SCOPA), Songezo Zibi says the committee reached out again to Mr. Collins Letsoalo’s attorneys after he missed today’s sitting. His attorney confirmed receiving Parliament’s letter stressing Mr. Letsoalo’s presence and will get back to the committee after consulting him. Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (#SCOPA), Songezo Zibi explains that the committee expected former #RAF CEO, Mr Collins Letsoalo to appear at 9:00 for a two-day session on the financial management issues at the RAF. If he fails to appear today and tomorrow, the committee will consider further action, including referral for criminal investigation and prosecution under the Powers and Privileges Act for defying a parliamentary summons.

Mr Mzwanele Manyi MP, member of South Africa’s Parliamentary delegation to the 150th Inter-Parliamentary Union, in Uzbekistan has commended all policy propositions the parliamentary delegation took to the conference and characterised them as progressive. He said a lot more could be copied and modelled on #IPU150 conference when South Africa hosts the P20 Speakers Summit in October.
