Recently at the Rock Cathedral, we received Dr. Mike Ervin, Head of the Political & Economic Section of the U.S. Consulate, and Mr. Ojani Walthrust, Political Officer for the southern states of Nigeria. Our conversation centred on matters that affect millions of Nigerian lives — issues of justice, peace, security, and nation-building. Real solutions require real understanding, and true peace is never merely the absence of conflict; it is the presence of justice, strong systems, and a shared commitment to human dignity. We remain optimistic that collaboration, clarity, and sincere dialogue can help build the Nigeria we all long to see — a nation where every citizen is protected, heard, and valued.

Dear Family, Trusting that this meets you well, winning and on top of the tests of life. You might be aware of a video which has been circulating on social media showing me in what some have misunderstood as brandishing a firearm. I want to assure you of this — that, that was certainly not a firearm, and at no point did I point such at anyone. Peter heard the Master say “come”, and then he stepped over people’s opinions, stepped over his feelings of inadequacy and stepped over the supposed safety of the boat even in the midst of a dreadful storm. The storm is not always the barrier. Sometimes, the barrier is the familiar voices around you that are hardest to step over. When God calls you to new levels, it is because He sees potential in you that you do not yet see yourself. And the price of fulfilling that call is the seeming insanity of leaving your comfort zone… for the divine invitation to walk on top of what others are sinking in. In the pursuit of becoming a water-walker, it is not enough to merely set goals. You must also anticipate and navigate the barriers between you and the call to be the exception. This Sunday, we will explore what it means to step over those barriers and to live from the place where the pressure is under your feet and not over your head. Because faith does not make you better than others. It just makes you different from the majority. Today marks another year of grace. I’m grateful for the journey, for the family, the fold, real friends, and for our LORD, who seizes upon the reach of one’s faith to supply all we need to be and to do all that He has called us to. I thank Him for all the moments along the way. And somewhere through the years, I’ve learned this: Purpose is not something you chase. It is something you commit to — daily, quietly, faithfully. Every year is a reminder that life is not measured by applause, but by impact. Not by how loud the moment is, but by how deeply it shapes persons, people, and populations. I’m grateful for the journey so far — for the privilege of serving, for the lives I’ve been allowed to walk with, and for the grace to keep showing up. This season reminds me that there is still more to do. More to give. More to build. More to speak. More ground ahead to cover. So today, I give thanks — for life, for love, for purpose, and for the strength to keep going. The LORD Himself be praised.
