There’s a guy on YouTube who reconstructs old medieval shoes. They follow the shape of the foot, roomy at the toes, flat, no raised heel. If you leave people alone, this is roughly where they end up, wearing sandals, moccasins, and shoes that let the toes and foot spread out. Everyone wears sneakers now partly because they give people more toe room and are easier to walk in. You can already see the next evolution, wide toe box, zero drop. We are slowly moving back toward older forms of footwear. Before fashion forced our feet into narrow dress shoes.

You can spend your whole life obsessing about exercise like Joe Rogan and miss basic movements like twisting. Which are essential for balance strength and mobility. But if you play a sport twisting is a mandatory movement. Much of exercise is deconstructing sport and trying to piece it together with individual exercises. It's easy to miss things.

A video about Kirk coming to Utah posted on IG a week before his visit. It's a big deal when Kirk comes to town. Places like Butler and Ogden take all this social media stuff seriously. Influencers on the coast hang out with each other and focus on metrics. It's a game to them. But not to other people. They go to work. Pass by strip malls and parking lots. Sit at home and scroll reels. That's where things get serious.

My theory on why people looked older in the past isn't because of smoking (not all these HS students smoked) or hair styles It's hydration. When people started drinking 10 bottles of water a day in the 2000s as a normal thing. Before, you had one cup of water from the sink or water fountain the entire day.

In 1989, Trump tried to bring cycling races to the USA. He saw how popular bicycle races were in Europe and thought he could make it popular in the US. Didn't happen. Cycling races stayed a european thing. America has an upper body bias. Like soccer, Cycling wont become big

The very earliest measuring rulers from ancient Egypt are similar to the inch–foot system used in America today. Body based. Tip of finger is an inch. A foot is about the size of a grown man's foot. These are things your body carries around, so the system is easy to reconstruct even without a ruler. Mnemonically sticky because they’re embodied The metric system had to be taught in schools, not learned by lived experience.
