I was a bit down and tired at work today after my 79 year old Mum fell and badly broke her pelvis yesterday. An hour and forty minutes lying on the pavement in torrential rain for an ambulance. What the hell!? The awesome Henry and a lovely visit took my mind off it though.

I’m not gonna lie, we all had a deep sense of foreboding all morning yesterday. By the second photo we’d got into an “in it together” spirit for what lay ahead. What did lay ahead was a great policing operation with few issues so we had some much-needed light relief.

I saved the most important “mint” ‘til last. Foggy got us into, and out of, some very dangerous situations during the violence in Rotherham. I say “us” because he led the team and gave the other horses confidence to go forward… a true hero in my opinion. Sore healing up nicely.

Well it’s been a long time coming but my old partner in crime, Treeton, is finally retiring very soon. We’ve found a lovely place in Barnsley where he can just relax in the green pastures and put his hooves up. He’s earned it.

Friday night extra: While I climbed over the fence to get some carrots out of the car, disorder broke out between Woody and Sully. Never off duty, Foggy policed the situation and split them up. Moose just stood there hoping for a shoulder scratch.
