Following the MDMK's exit from the DMK-led alliance, more than 150 functionaries from Vaiko's party joined the #DMK on Sunday. The entrants include former state and district office-bearers, lawyers, student leaders and other senior functionaries from Sivaganga, Tiruvallur, Virudhunagar, Tiruppur and other districts. They were inducted into the DMK by party president M.K. Stalin at Anna Arivalayam.

In the video, a local resident questions the husband of a DMK councillor over an alleged demand for money following civic work. The argument soon shifts to a common complaint: that he often get involved even in small repair and construction works demanding money through the officials. People gathered at the spot majorly voted for DMK, heard saying that such incidents are the reason parties lose public support. Some residents also question why a councillor's husband should be involved in such matters.

Dalit residents of Theeyathur village in Avudaiyarkoil taluk of Pudukkottai are being forced to carry corpses through paddy fields to reach the burial ground due to the absence of a proper access pathway on Friday. Highlighting the hardship and indignity faced by the community, activists, including members of the Neelam Cultural Centre, on Friday urged the district administration to immediately provide a dedicated road and resolve the long-pending issue.
