DFLers hosted another great convention in CD5 today! It was great to join folks to nominate my congresswoman, Ilhan Omar.

This weekend, I joined the Somali community in Willmar for lunch at the Somali Star restaurant. Minnesotans are going to show up for our neighbors. That's who we are.

I want to tell you about what's happening here in Minnesota.

I was one of the founders of Minnesotans for Paid Family and Medical Leave. After years of organizing, we got it done. Starting January 1st, Minnesotans won't have to choose between a paycheck or taking care of a sick loved one.

JD Vance may have forgotten where he comes from, but I am alive because of programs like Medicaid and SNAP. In Minnesota, we wrap our arms around folks when they need help.

I will not let the world forget what the Trump administration did to Minnesota.

Somali Minnesotans are a part of the fabric of our beautiful state. Somali Minnesotans are teachers, nurses, neighbors - our friends. Trump's vile hate has no home here.

Minnesota can’t do this alone. We need action at the federal level - now.

Too many Minnesotans feel like the bottom could fall out at any moment. I know what that’s like. My hardworking single mom relied on public schools, public housing, and Medicaid to get us by. That's why I'm running for Senate - to be a loud, clear voice for families like mine.
