Winning a debate often shaped the spread of belief systems, not through force, but through the power of reasoning and conviction. This same intellectual spirit later lived on in Tibetan monastic debate, rooted in the great universities of Nalanda, Vikramshila and Odantapuri. A glimpse of this tradition was witnessed today, as students of Thubten Choelling Balika Vidyalaya, Lhou demonstrated the timeless art of debate with confidence, discipline and joy for learning.
