As the 2/9 Gorkha Rifles move on to their next assignment after an outstanding tenure in the Mago–Chuna sector of Tawang, I extend my sincere gratitude for their exemplary service. For over 33 months, the Battalion stood as a symbol of courage and commitment, transforming lives through humanitarian outreach, medical camps, community development, promotion of border tourism, environmental initiatives, and strong civil-military cooperation. Their service has strengthened both our national security and the bond between the Army and the people of Arunachal Pradesh. My heartfelt appreciation to every officer, JCO, and jawan of the Battalion. Arunachal Pradesh will always remember your service with pride.

Their demise is a great loss to public life. We stand in solidarity with the bereaved families and pray for strength and peace during this difficult time. Winning a debate often shaped the spread of belief systems, not through force, but through the power of reasoning and conviction. This same intellectual spirit later lived on in Tibetan monastic debate, rooted in the great universities of Nalanda, Vikramshila and Odantapuri. A glimpse of this tradition was witnessed today, as students of Thubten Choelling Balika Vidyalaya, Lhou demonstrated the timeless art of debate with confidence, discipline and joy for learning.

The first call which I made from Tawang will ever be etched in my memory, heart and soul. Better network of the Internet will give a boost to governance and delivery of services to the people. My special thanks to Liromoba MLA Shri Nyamar Karbak (Modi Ka Parivar) ji who joined the call from Tego-Gamlin, and P Tato, DC, West Siang for being a part of this historic occasion. airtel India
