I wanted to know how many migrants entering the UK possess a criminal record either here, or abroad, so I asked the Home Office who told me ‘The information requested is not readily available, requiring manual scrutiny of systems’. Which translates to: we don’t know how many criminals we’ve imported into the country, and civil servants can’t be bothered to look into it. It’s clearer than ever that the Home Office is not fit for purpose and the Government has lost control of law and order.
