Life is a beautiful, sometimes tragic, and often crazy adventure. You’ve got to rock it with a positive outlook and a healthy sense of humor. ❤️ Throwing it way back to 5-year old me in Washington D.C. advocating on behalf of medically-complex kids to 16-year old me after my jaw surgery. I had to re-learn how to talk and chew and couldn’t feel my lips for weeks. We called it “rock & drool.” Playing guitar (and keeping a sense of humor) was key to staying positive during that recovery. ❤️🩹 I still can’t believe I’m playing this beautiful signature guitar and moving to Nashville.🤯 Wishing you a wonderful, rockin week. ❤️ Peter Dankelson 🎸 #petesdiary #everyonehasastory #believeinyourself #acdc #mondaymotivation

Up early and have my pre-op playlist going. Ready to rock surgery 38. 🤘🏻 I’ve had a blocked tear duct in left eye for about a year. They’ll be creating a new path for drainage. Today is the 6-year anniversary of my airway reconstruction. Definitely one of the hardest surgeries & recoveries I’ve had. 🤕 What got me though? Family, friends, and music! ❤️ AC/DC has been part of my music journey and and an inspiration since I picked up a guitar. Thanks so much for all the kind messages yesterday. Surgery 38 is ✅ Not a major procedure but my airway makes things complicated for anesthesia. I’m extremely grateful for the compassionate team Northwestern Medicine in #Chicago. They even let me blast #acdc in the OR to help my anxiety.
