Patagonia has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Pattie Gonia (Wyn Wiley), an environmentalist drag queen who has raised nearly $4 million for climate nonprofits The outdoor clothing company sued Wiley on January 21 in federal court in Los Angeles, claiming that Wiley's September trademark application to use "Pattie Gonia" for clothing and environmental activism would "irreparably harm" the brand. Patagonia is only seeking $1 in damages plus legal fees, but Wiley has pointed out the real cost: fighting to keep their drag name would rack up thousands in legal fees, money that could go toward environmental causes instead. "This is not a brand conflict," Wiley said in a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday, May 27. "This is a corporation trying to erase an activist. This is how corporations bully individuals who cannot match their resources." Wiley has spent 8 years building a community of over 3 million people, raising almost $4 million for environmental nonprofits. In an open letter to Patagonia's CEO and board, Pattie Gonia questioned the company's commitment to its stated mission: "If Patagonia is 'in business to save the home planet,' why are they suing a climate activist?" The drag queen acknowledged their merch involved "playful parody" of Patagonia but denied ever using the company's branding, logo, or font. "Drag is built on parody, puns and jokes," they noted. Patagonia responded with a statement saying: "Over the past several years, we've tried to find a path forward that would allow Pattie Gonia to continue their work while also protecting the Patagonia trademark… Unfortunately, we could not reach an agreement." The company added: "This matter is not about seeking financial gain, nor is it about challenging anyone's identity or right to advocacy, protest, or creative expression. The last thing we wanted was a legal fight with someone who shares our values." "You are what you do, not what you say you are," The drag queen told Patagonia's founder Yvon Chouinard, referencing his own words about corporate action matching values.

Gay TikToker Devon Rollins, also known as ‘Baddie Daddy’ is going viral for his relationship with his daughter. Devon says he’s only ever dated women, and was once married to a woman, who he had a baby with, but he realised he was gay and unhappy during his marriage. He then came out to his then-wife, ended their relationship and told his family. But he says his ex-wife has been understanding and supportive and his relationship with both her and their daughter have since blossomed, with them successfully co-parenting. Devon often spoils his daughter, taking her shopping, getting her nails done and buying her flowers, and he often shows off their matching outfits. 22 years ago, the European Court of Human Rights delivered a landmark ruling that changed the lives of transgender people across the UK forever. On July 11, 2002, the court ruled unanimously in favour of Christine Goodwin, a British trans woman who had faced severe workplace harassment, issues with her National Insurance contributions, and was denied the right to marry in her acquired gender. The Grand Chamber found that the UK's failure to legally recognise trans people's gender violated two fundamental rights under the European Convention on Human Rights. The Goodwin v. United Kingdom judgment became the catalyst for the Gender Recognition Act 2004, which finally granted transgender people in the UK full legal recognition in their acquired gender and the right to obtain new birth certificates. This archival footage captures the moment that reshaped trans rights in Britain.

Thailand’s annual military conscription event is a highly anticipated moment for Thai men aged 21 to 26. Each year, they gather at local recruitment centres to determine their fate through a national lottery. Everyone receives an envelope - and inside is either a red card or a black card. Red means you’re selected for military service. Black means you’re exempt. However, a new viral tradition has emerged within Thailand’s trans community. While transgender individuals are still required to show up in person for the draft lottery, they can be exempt from service if they provide a gender reassignment certificate or relevant medical documents. Each year, trans women across the country head to recruitment centres to submit their paperwork - often turning the moment into a celebration, complete with photoshoots proudly holding their certificates outside the recruitment centre. While it remains illegal for trans people to serve in Thailand’s military, this annual tradition has turned into a powerful symbol of pride for the country's trans community.

Dan and Phil had fans over the moon— and then subsequently laughing— after posting an April Fool's video showing Dan Howell getting on bended knee to propose to Phil Lester. Starting out the video with a clip of a suit-clad Dan Howell showing the camera a Haribo ring, he grabs Lester’s hand and details some of the reasons why he cares so deeply about their partnership. “You are the most important and, basically, only person in my life. We are roommates, male podcast hosts, we keep each other's piss stream steady… and now it's time to do something that I have always dreamt of,” Howell says, before getting down on one knee and asking Phil to be his “phusband”. Sadly, Phil refuses the proposal, claiming they’re “moving too fast,” and goes on to eat the candy ring, leaving Dan alone to deliver a heartbroken ad read to those still watching. The comedy duo confirmed in an October 2025 YouTube video that they’ve been in a relationship for the past 16 years after both Howell and Lester separately came out as gay in 2019. In the video, the pair opened up about the fact that they’ve been in a romantic relationship since 2009, in addition to vlogging and working together. Since publicly confirming their relationship, the couple have had plenty of fun sharing a slightly closer look at their relationship dynamic with fans, and making jokes about their partnership. This April Fool's Day joke marks the latest addition to the duo’s antics.
