When people think of China's metropolises and skyscrapers, Beijing and Shanghai might come to mind first. But what if those soaring towers rose deep within the mountains of southwest China? For her Urban Design Project, Carolin Esser, a German student at Peking University Guanghua School of Management, reached out to her friend Yang Rui (Yuri) from the 2020 cohort of Peking University School of Foreign Languages. A simple call soon turned into a weekend in the 8D magic city, Chongqing.

Back in 1987, how did people in Chongqing cross the swift and mighty Yangtze River? The answer is a cableway that soars above the waves, connecting the two banks.
