In 1955, a man in Iran became one of the most hauntingly documented cases of human rabies in medical history. He had been bitten by a rabid wolf during an outbreak in Sahneh, Iran. Once the rabies virus reached his nervous system and symptoms began, there was essentially nothing medicine could do.
