We’re warming up for our 2025 #LondonPoppyDay! Tomorrow we'll take to the stations and streets of the capital to raise vital funds to support our Armed Forces community. Join us to see military bands, hundreds of uniformed personnel and volunteers - and pick up your poppy.

We would like to wish the Armed Forces community and all of our supporters a prosperous New Year. We look forward to continuing our vital support to the Armed Forces community in 2023.

The Royal British Legion’s 2023 #PoppyAppeal launches today with our new plastic-free poppy ♻️ Made entirely from paper, the plastic-free poppy is available alongside stock of the existing poppy to reduce waste. 1/2

#OnThisDay in 1945 Prime Minister Winston Churchill declared 8th May as Victory in Europe Day. Later today we will mark the 80th anniversary of #VEDay at the National Memorial Arboretum. Follow us throughout the day as we pay tribute to the Second World War generation.

There are many reasons that could cause a veteran’s life to fall apart. The lasting impact of a training accident; the loss of a friend; battlefield trauma. When something goes wrong, we’re here to help them rebuild their lives. #PoppyAppeal

Tomorrow marks the 80th anniversary of #VJDay. At midday, there will be a two-minute silence followed by a commemoration at the National Memorial Arboretum featuring first-hand testimony from VJ veterans, like Richard, who experienced the conflict in the Far East.

What a result🎉 In just one day, our London Poppy Day collectors raised £1.47m. A huge thank you to everyone who made it possible including volunteers, serving personnel, veterans and those who donated. These funds will help us support the Armed Forces community for life.

Earlier today #PoppyAppeal collectors and veterans attended UK Prime Minister to meet the Prime Minister as he made his donation to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, which officially launches this Thursday. 1/2

Since its emergence as a symbol of Remembrance after the First World War, poppies have taken on various shapes and sizes. From handmade silk and cotton poppies to wartime poppies, 2023 sees the biggest change in the poppy’s design for a generation. 1/3
