I wasn't expecting this kind of reaction. I bought this slab of Japanese A5 meat for the last hot pot video and decided to cut off a piece and surprise Eunice with it. I will say the wagyu tastes a lot better in shabu shabu than as a steak, plus I overcooked it too.

Eunice has been obsessed with this sandwich for a while now. Super simple, just olive oil and balsamic vinegar, burrata cheese or mozzarella, prosciutto or other meats, with arugula. If you want to get fancy you can add more stuff but it's really good just like this.

I recently found out that I have a fatty liver. I've been pretty healthy my whole life so this news sort of hit me different. Especially after becoming a dad, the thought of my own mortality has been on my mind a lot lately. But at least for now it's time to eat less red meat, less sugars, and add more exercise, as well as focus on more antioxidant rich foods. If you're a parent you know how hard dieting can be. With the daily chaos, really the only thing you can look forward to is a delicious meal and exercising is also out the window some days. But now it's time to start making small adjustments.

I invited my friend and taco shop owner Edgar from Top Shelf Tacos in Carson, CA to come try some tacos. A while ago I had tacos like this in Cancun, wet with consommé on the side and I loved it. This is my version of making them at home and it's always a crowd pleaser. Have to pair it with the serrano green fire salsa, chipotle red salsa, and queso fresco on the side.
