When starting fullback Sean McHugh’ Mother died of ovarian cancer in the winter of 2001, Joe Paterno took the entire team to the funeral. 5 hours to Chagrin Falls each way on those decorative blue buses. No bathrooms. Paterno at 75. With health issues of his own. Rode on those buses with his staff/players to attend the service of a freshman fullback. So when people say why are we the only ones banging drum for the return of the statue? This is why. The record 409 aside. I miss him everyday. #WeAreBecauseHeWas 🏈🔵⚪️

Cael Sanderson used his post-tournament presser to deliver a pointed message. While he didn’t mention any names, it was directed toward Oklahoma State. He did not like the way a high schooler was pulled from the middle of his senior year in high school & inserted into a college lineup. He’s also unhappy with the Cowboys actively recruiting his past and current players (Ryder, Facundo, Steen, etc.). Sanderson is also displeased that David Taylor did not mention PSU once during the tournament. While the likes of Tom Ryan & Mark Manning praised them beforehand & congratulated them afterwards. Cael turns 47 in June. He is in charge of the only dynasty in sport. It is unprecedented. David Taylor turns 36 in December. He is in charge of the school with the most national championships in the history of the sport. He has revived a fan base & their donors. This generation of high schoolers actually remember his gold medal. This is exactly what the fringe sport of wrestling needs. Rivalries in sports were/are good. Cubs/Cardinals. Yankees/Red Sox. If there was ever a doubt if Gavin McKenna loved Penn State, look at final seconds of the loss last night. Lions had NO shot at winning with UMD racing toward the empty net 2-on-1 up one with five seconds left. There was McKenna sprawling out trying to block the shot. He could have gotten hurt in a game that was OVER. Future 1st overall pick giving his all. Till the very end. #WeAreBecauseHeWas 🏒🔵⚪️

Bill O’Brien saved the program. Two 7-5 yrs with half a roster. James Franklin had us believing for 12 yrs. 2016 the lone Big Ten Conference title. Got ugly at the end. Joe Paterno was the gold standard. No nonsense. Just graduated 90% of his student/athletes. Scott Paterno, Shabbos Goy Jay Paterno

He didn’t mean to take shots at Penn State. While he takes shots at Penn State. “Big Game James” can’t stop talking about his ex-employer. Says he is grateful for his 12 years here. Should be. Made over $100M. Bamboozled former AD Barbour. As far as former players going to VT, I appreciate the talents of Grunk & Luke Reynolds. But PSU was hurt more by Tennessee than VT. Not going to harp on Franklin’ record in BIG GAMES. We know it’s historically awful. But he’s no longer our concern.

I’d rather be HOMELESS. Trying to think of the last relevant pro the Cavs produced….the Barber twins? That was 30 yrs ago. Not one HOFer. Ain’t a bag BIG enough to do that flip 💰 The whole staff is there because even they are stunned you would flip to a hoops school (the 7th-best program in a weak ACC) after you were just here. Virginia produced US Presidents when country was first formed. PSU produces NFL players.

Everyone (including me) is assuming that the WHITE OUT will be October 10th. The only hiccup would be if FOX Sports claims it for their BIG NOON game (again). Reason that won’t happen is the jet-lagged USC Trojans would essentially be playing 9AM their time.

🫡 U.S. Army is such a class act. I hate when PSU plays them in anything. My Dad was US Army. 🔴⚪️🔵 The cadets stood on the sideline at attention while PSU sang their alma mater. Did not exit the field till it was over. Nittany Lions advance on to quarters vs Princeton. Army returns to defending our freedom. 🇺🇸

You saw Penn State Athletics unloading all of their NIKE stuff at the Pegula Ice Arena sale B/W Weekend. But what is The Student Book Store at PSU /other shops downtown doing?
