Back in college, a BBA friend decided to pursue bartending as a career. His parents barely managed his college and hostel fees, and everyone including seniors told him not to risk it. But he followed his gut. We all chipped in for his course fee. By year-end, he was earning ₹25K/month while we engineering grads were offered ₹12K starting salaries. A year later, in 2012, he was working in Goa, pulling in ₹1.5L/month.

Manufacturing in India : Story of a failed manufacturer. 1. Manage labourers (Skilled & Unskilled) & their Unions. 2. Give them advance so they can repay old lenders and join you 3. Manage vendors to keep the production line uninterrupted 4. Handle shop floor : Always arrange backup because the key operator vanishes a day before deadline 5. Run the store: because store manager is always blamed for downtime 6. Supervise assembly 7. Oversee quality control 8. Manage dispatch and logistics All of this happens on the factory floor. Might have missed something as well. Once you step into the office: 1. Find new customers to keep the line running for the next 60 days 2. Build relationships to manage cash flow with banks, creditors & associations 3. Schedule preventive maintenance of machines 4. Handle all admin work 5. Monitor production reports & costings 6. Do payment follow-ups And repeat all of the above day in, day out, 365 days a year. If you're not ready to handle 10 different agencies at once, every single day…Don’t start.
