This is one of the most heartbreaking videos I have ever watched. After the demolition of people’s homes by National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) , a devastated mother reportedly chose to take her own life, overwhelmed by the pain of losing everything she had worked for. In the video, her young son can be seen desperately pleading with her not to do it. No child should ever have to witness such pain. No mother should be pushed to such hopelessness.

It was a deeply emotional scene when a sick man, weak but determined, asked his family to take him outside just to catch a glimpse of his president. When Mr. President saw him, he immediately stopped the entire trail, walked towards him, held his hand, and told him to stay strong.

Hon. Miria Matembe says when her husband warned her that men in drones had come to take her, she told her driver to drive away. But because their calls were being monitored, security officers allegedly traced the driver’s wife, picked her up from work, brutalised and tortured her, and forced her to reveal where Hon. Today, Hon. Nalukoola spent the day visiting and checking on sick and injured comrades. He started by visiting Eddy Mutwe’s son, who suffered severe burns after hot water accidentally spilled on him. He later visited Comrade American, who was attacked and brutally assaulted by goons. In these difficult times, such acts of solidarity and compassion matter. We wish both comrades a quick and full recovery. 🙏🏾

When journalists asked former Vice President Gilbert Bukenya why he declared his intention to run for president but later withdrew, he said that after announcing his bid, he needed more than three cars just to reach his home fearing for his safety. He also revealed that Museveni seemed to know everything discussed in his private meetings. Fearing for his life, Bukenya eventually chose to support Museveni. That alone tells you a lot about Uganda’s political environment.
