In honor of Yunjin's Birthday, we've made a donation in her name to the Imagination Library ( The Imagination Library is a non-profit charity that has gifted over 340 million books to children in need for the past 31 years. There are many reasons as to why I adore Yunjin, but one of things I love most about her is her ability to be so open minded. She approaches the world with a desire to understand it, to seek out different perspectives, question what she knows, and allows new experiences to shape the way she thinks. I think a major factor that shapes this is her love for reading. Books have a way to take us into a different world, or experience a new paradox. They introduce us to lives we've never lived, places we've never been, and encounters we may never experience. Books encourage the imagination ("Be delusional!" -HYJ). They help us grow empathy, pique our curiosity, and build opinions. These are qualities I see reflected so often in Yunjin. Whether it's in the way she speaks, the way she carries herself, the way she writes, or the way she creates. She's quick to want to continue to learn, she's eager to grow, and she's first to admit when there's more to understand. There's just something so thoughtful about the way she processes the world that I've become incredibly fond of. The reason I chose to donate to the Imagination Library is because introducing a child to reading at such a young age gives them the chance to imagine, to explore, and to discover. As a child, Yunjin had an amazing foundation forged by her parents where they introduced her to reading: "I used to have fun making up stories just by myself or with my younger sibling or my friends. We moved to the US not long after I was born, so my mom and dad worked really hard to make sure we spoke Korean as much as possible at home. We had almost 100 children’s books for that reason. I can still see the bookshelf in our study completely packed with them. i wanted to fully translate the “need your company” segment from chaewon’s appearance on lee mujin service because the official subtitles missed a lot of nuances, especially the moment lee mujin reacted to the title: “우리 어떻게 더 사귈 수 있을까.” i reached out to 허이사 YUNTOBER 🎉 to double check the wording because i wanted the translation to be as accurate as possible 🤍 breaking it down: 우리 = we/us 어떻게 = how 더 = more / longer / further 사귀다 = date / be together 수 있을까 = can we / could we so while there are a few ways to interpret it, the translation we felt captured the emotion best was: “how can we continue being together longer?” and honestly… seeing lee mujin pause after hearing the title makes so much sense now. and the fact that chaewon also said she sang the song as a surprise for yunjin 🥹 anyways, i hope you enjoy the full translated segment 🥹 and thank you again to womenhuh1 for helping clarify the nuances 🫶!
