Proud to launch the new nuclear medicine service at 🇪🇹 Black Lion Hospital - one of the 4 radiotherapy centres supported by @IAEAorg in Ethiopia. Through #RaysOfHope, the hospital now has SPECT/CT scanners, a LINAC, trained staff, and a mammography unit on the way. A major step!

Thanks to the professionalism and swift action of the Emirates Nuclear and FANR UAE, the situation was quickly brought under control. The IAEA - International Atomic Energy Agency ⚛️ will continue supporting nuclear safety and security in the UAE and across the region.

Thanks to 🇦🇹 Bundeskanzleramt's Chancellor Christian Stocker, Vice Chancellor Andi Babler and MFA Austria’s Beate Meinl-Reisinger for the invitation to brief the Austrian Government on this critical matter.

Wherever the world needed us most, the IAEA - International Atomic Energy Agency ⚛️ was there, delivering impartial expertise, supporting safety and security, and advancing the peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology. As the year comes to a close, I thank everyone who works with and supports the Agency for their dedication, professionalism and cooperation throughout the year. Ready for 2026.
