Proud to launch the new nuclear medicine service at 🇪🇹 Black Lion Hospital - one of the 4 radiotherapy centres supported by @IAEAorg in Ethiopia. Through #RaysOfHope, the hospital now has SPECT/CT scanners, a LINAC, trained staff, and a mammography unit on the way. A major step!

Back to Fukushima Daiichi 🇯🇵, where the IAEA - International Atomic Energy Agency ⚛️ maintains a continuous presence and independent monitoring of the ALPS-treated water discharges. Today, I participated in the additional measures, welcoming international experts from China, the Republic of Korea and Switzerland to engage directly in sampling and analysis. Three years after the releases began, the data continue to confirm that the discharges are proceeding in line with international safety standards.
