Clip of an interview of Indira Gandhi from 1984 where she talks about terrorism in Punjab. She avoids naming Bhindranwale or his org, and largely blames Akalis for the killings. She also avoids naming Hindus as specific target of this hate politics, and makes it more about Sikhs. While Akalis are not at all doodh ka dhoola and they are largely to blame even for the current wave of rise in Khalistani sentiments (starting with their u-turn on Farm Laws), Indira erred by making it was more about electoral politics than deeper societal problem. By not talking about Hindus, perhaps thinking that it will be a ‘communal’ thing to do, she ended up erasing some stories and diluting historical narrative. Politicians of today, especially of the mainstream national parties, must avoid both these mistakes. Though in all likelihood, both will be repeated.

Ram Gooha says that Babur demolishing Ayodhya Ram Mandir was entirely okay, because there was Islamic rule and ethics prevalent in India where temples could be broken legally. But a Supreme Court sanctioned construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya is illegal and unethical.
